In an effort to create a pleasant working environment that brings out the best in our employees, we are committed to improving the working environment from the following four viewpoints: work-life balance, diversity, human resources development and health.
We are reinforcing our efforts to address this aspect based on the idea that we can build a beneficial cycle where each employee's working actively results in generating added value, which leads to the growth and good performance of Broadleaf, and eventually this results in profit return to the stakeholders.
Application and expansion of discretionary labor system
A discretionary labor system is applied to those employees who are engaged in planning operations or specialized operations so that they can work while making the most of their knowledge and creativity and allocate their time at their discretion in order to improve the efficiency and productivity of their job. Under this system, they receive remuneration not for the hours they work but for the result of their work, and they are also paid a planning development allowance, which is equivalent to overtime payment for approximately 30 hours a month. This system encourages employees to work more efficiently without being worried about how many hours they work.
Recommendation of annual planned vacation
We recommend that employees take annual planned holidays, considering the fact that the ratio of annual holidays taken falls below the national average. Specifically speaking, it is recommended that at least two paid days off are taken each quarter (three months). An employee shall apply for paid leave to his or her superior before the first month of the quarter to take holidays systematically. We aim to increase the ratio of holidays taken with this measure.
Promoting women's active participation
We are proactively engaged in promoting women's active participation by increasing female employment and the number of women in managerial positions. We are reducing long working hours and extending the period of short-time working for childcare (during preschool years) to create a pleasant work environment. We will also consider adopting a system of limited regular employment in the future to reform the way of working.
Approach to support childcare and nursing care
It is important to reform the consciousness of all employees and establish a work environment that fosters respect for those who combine work with childcare or nursing care so that employees can feel secure and play active roles in the workplace. We are committed to providing support to those who balance work and home life and to reforming the way of working to create a work environment that promotes success for women in the workplace.
Career development support
With the aim of increasing the abilities required to build relationships of trust with customers, we will invigorate the employees as well as the organization through the system and approach to support the capability development and career development of each employee.
